Emily currently works as a Pilates instructor, Contemporary Dance artist and Dance teacher. She fell in love with Pilates at the age of 17 where it was introduced to her during full time dance training at The New Zealand school of Dance. Since then Pilates has been a constant in her life, a regular practice, as it not only enhanced her dance career but her overall wellbeing. In 2007 Emily discovered her passion for the teaching of Pilates via her initial instructor training with Suna Pilates where she qualified with certificates for Mat and Reformer teaching.
Aside from full-time employment of four years with Wellington-based Footnote Dance Company, Emily has had a freelance dance career since 2006. She has had the pleasure of working with various overseas artists and Choreographers and she has been employed by many of the most high profile Choreographers and Companies in the New Zealand dance industry. This work has led her to perform and tour around the country and the world (Europe, UK, USA, Korea, Australia).
She has managed a successful parallel career in both Pilates and Dance and in 2014 she was eager to extend her Pilates training, so began this with the Polestar Pilates method…and has never looked back! Emily has since graduated from both the Polestar Mat and Studio courses, is a Polestar Mentor and is currently training towards an Educator role.
Emily has worked at IQ Pilates, Configure express Women’s Gym, Auckland Physiotherapy, Bodyneed sports clinic, and is presently managing the Pilates Body Studio and is working with ‘Muscle Mouth Dance Company’. Emily considers it to be a privilege to share her passion for Pilates with others and is deeply invested in guiding each individual towards their goals.

Kelly's passion for Pilates started back in 2004 to complement her active lifestyle; keen runner, cycler and member of Chester university swim squad, keeping her body in tune helping her to perform at her best and minimize the risk of injury.
Kelly's active lifestyle led her to an early career in the armed forces. Joining HMS Eaglet Royal Naval Reserves as an able seaman in 2005 and followed by a commission as a junior officer passing through Brittania Royal Naval school in 2007 as a lieutenant.
Kelly has been to exercises in Gibraltar, Norway and off the coast of the UK, taken HMS Grimsby (a minehunter) out to Bahrain and learning astronavigation on the way to ascension island in the South Atlantic.
Always a keen swimmer Kelly was part of a team representing the Royal Navy which broke a UK Masters record for the 200mt freestyle in 2008.
If you frequent Wellington you may have seen her amongst the orca gracing the waters of Oriental Parade in open water season!
Kelly has a clear vision to help others find that wonderful balance between mind and body to become the strongest version of themselves that they can be.
We are so lucky to have her here at the Pilates Body Studio bringing her positivity and zest for life.
